The Chapter is involved with a rich mix of activities focused on young women, needy Families, women's health, political and economic awareness. The Chapter's signature Programs include:

Positive Steps:
A Program that provides young women ages 12-17 the opportunity to recognize their full potential through educational, developmental, and cultural programs focusing in the areas of health and wellness, careers and leadership, and cultural and personal development. Our vision is to see young women step into a positive future, one step at a time.

Momentum:
The mission of this program is to provide women making the welfare-to-work transition with additional support to empower themselves and develop their full potential through education, mentoring and developmental programs. Our goal is to assist these women in realizing their dreams000 and those of their children. NCBW believes vision and reality converges only with the "force" to achieve.

Madam C.J. Walker Scholars Program:

The goal of this program is to provide long-term educational, developmental and career development and career advancement for socially and economically challeged youth and adult women. Participants in the madam C.J. Walker Scholars Program must be enrolled in either the "Momentum" Program or the "Postive Steps" Programs. The Scholars program provides a 2-5 year plan that is co-developed with the participant and a NCBW Mentor/Coach.

Community Outreach:
NCBW supports a number of community organizations that provide services in the area of domestic violence, welfare-to-work programs, homelessness, heart disease, cancer, AIDS, and education.
