10th Madam C.J. Walker Awards
More than 1,500 people attended
the Madam C.J. Walker Business and Community Recognition
Awards luncheon at the San Francisco Marriott March 28,
honoring the legacy of the first female African-American
self-made millionaire. Walker’s great-great-granddaughter,
A’Lelia Bundles, was on hand to watch as four women from the
community were honored for exhibiting the same
entrepreneurial spirit and community values that made Madam
C.J. so unique. The event was sponsored by the Oakland
chapter of 100 Black Women Inc. www.onehundredblackwomen.com.
