A Message from the President
Welcome to
National Coalition of 100 Black Women Inc., Oakland Bay Area
Chapter (OBAC) website. I am chapter president Barbara Williams.
Since its
inception in 1995, OBAC members is committed to delivering
innovative programs and initiatives to positively change the
lives of women and girls throughout the Bay Area, making our
communities a better place for all.
For the year
of 2008 we have raised the bar of expectations. In order to
positively impact more lives, we need your help.
With your partnership we can continue to:
-
Enable tomorrow’s
leaders today through our Positive Steps Mentoring Program.
Our Positive Steps program allows us to develop and empower
teenaged girls ages 12-17 with leadership, social advocacy,
science and technology and decision-making. Allowing them to
grow strong and develop into healthy, self-assure young
women.
-
Identify and
recognize women trailblazers, liberators, advocates and
visionaries who have gone above and beyond in serving their
communities, laying the groundwork for a powerful legacy.
However, there is still much work to be done. Please take the
time to explore our website and learn more about how you can
support our chapter’s initiatives.
The coalition knows that without the spirit of your generosity
our growth would not be possible. Let’s work together in
transforming the lives of women and girls ensuring that none are
left behind.
On behalf of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women Inc.,
Oakland Bay Area Chapter, I sincerely want to thank all of our
wonderful members, supporters, volunteers and sponsors for their
continued support.
Sincerely,
Barbara
Williams, President
